The Lovin' Life Music Festival debuts this spring in Uptown.

Why it matters: The inaugural three-day festival on May 3-5 will bring big-name headliners and up to 90,000 people to First Ward in Uptown with the hopes of making Charlotte more of a music destination.

Planning to attend the festival? Here's what you should know before you go:

  • General admission is sold out, VIP tickets are still available starting at $225 for one-day passes and two-day VIP passes are available for $475.
  • Single-day general admission tickets are on sale for $129.
  • Children under the age of 11 enter free.

Post Malone, Stevie Nicks and Noah Kahan will headline the festival.

  • Other artists include: The Beach Boys, Parmalee, Happy Landing, Maggie Rogers, Dashboard Confessional, The Chainsmokers, Quinn XCII, Petey Pablo, Mt. Joy, Young the Giant, Dominic Fike, Jessie Murph, The Fray, Allen Stone, Ripe, Lily Fitts, Holly Humberstone, Ax & the Hatchetmen, Weston Estate, The Aces, Anees, Infinity Song, Nightly and Artikal Sound System.
  • Charlotte-native DaBaby and the Grammy-nominated Concord natives, The Avett Brothers, will also perform. Charlotte's Sainted Trap Choir, which recently competed on NBC's "America's Got Talent: Fantasy League," is also in the lineup.

What to bring

You're allowed to carry a personal bag, phone, blanket/beach towels and sunscreen. At the bottom of this section, we've listed a few of these items our team has taken to past festivals — many can be ordered on Amazon Prime.

  • Lovin' Life has a clear bag policy that allows bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12".
  • The policy also states that non-clear bags that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" can be taken into the festival with one of the clear plastic bags.
  • A gallon Ziploc bag or smaller is also acceptable.
  • You can reserve lockers with charging stations ahead of time, and you can access them all weekend. You'll receive an email 24 hours before the event with your locker location, number, and combination, according to festival organizers.
  • A statement from the festival addressed concertgoers' concerns about water stations on festival grounds. People are encouraged to bring empty reusable water bottles to refill.
  • Don't forget your wristband — you must register it ahead of time online. There's an option to link a card to your wristband for cashless payments at the festival.
  • Lovin' Life also has its own app where you can view an interactive map, see a list of food vendors and explore the lineup.
  • Of note: Prohibited items include backpacks, umbrellas, chairs, weapons, firearms and outside food. Pets are also not allowed.
  • Find the festival's full list of permissible and prohibited items, plus policies on bags, drugs and alcohol, ADA, wristbands, upgrades and more, here.

Festival checklist: In addition to must-haves like your wristband, here are some items our team suggests bringing, including some options we've taken to festivals in the past.

  • A collapsible water bottle, like this one for $10 on Amazon delivers the same day.
  • Ear plugs — we've taken these $34.95 reusable ear plugs to a past festival, and we can confirm you'll hear the music just as well if not better.
  • Rain ponchos or jackets — there's a chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday as of April 30.
  • Sunglasses too, since Charlotte's weather can feel like different seasons in one day.
  • A handheld mini fan to keep cool. This one for $17.99 on Amazon has a built-in flashlight and is eligible for Prime.
  • A picnic blanket with a waterproof bottom for sitting and/or napping between sets.
  • A clear bag — no bigger than 12" x 6" x 12, like this $9.99 bag on Amazon (eligible for Prime) or a non-clear bag no bigger than 4.5" x 6.5".
  • Last but not least, sunscreen, sunscreen and more sunscreen.
