The Irish in Boston features historian Anthony Sammarco at the Framingham Public Library. He'll explore the 19th and 20th-century institutions—from Boston College to the Cathedral of the Holy Cross—founded by Irish immigrants, 7pm–8pm.

Heavy pro rockers Eidola bring the "Eviscerate // Mend" tour to the Paradise Rock Club. 6:30pm.

The Boston Underground Film Festival (BUFF) begins at the Brattle Theatre with an East Coast premiere of "Normal," featuring a live Q&A with star Bob Odenkirk, 7pm.

Eddie Izzard: Hamlet at the Boch Center Shubert Theatre features a whirlwind solo performance where actor and comedian Izzard portrays 23 different characters from Shakespeare's classic, 3pm.
