Carrie Nation, Dubliner settle wage theft violations with Mass. AG

Beacon Hill was abuzz this weekend over a settlement Carrie Nation and the Dubliner's parent company reached with the attorney general's office.

• Jackseens agreed to pay more than $422,000 to resolve allegations that it charged customers a 3% service fee and pocketed the money.
• State wage laws require the company to distribute it among its 84 employees across the two restaurants.

❌ Blame the (lack of) alcohol: Two Saints Tavern closed last weekend after nearly a decade in the Fenway area, Boston.com reported.

• Chuck Hitchcock, the bar manager, cited rising costs and the decline of drinking among young people.

🍜 Recent openings: Cafe Noodo, which sells hand-pulled noodles, lamb skewers and boba milk tea, opened near North Station.

• 7th Street Burger, a New York City-based burger chain, plans to open restaurants in South Boston and the Back Bay.
