⚓ Courageous Sailing has a $65-$80 million plan to redevelop the dilapidated Piers 4 and 5 in Charlestown into public waterfront space.
The project will feature meeting halls, classrooms, sailing facilities and a 5,000-square-foot event space overlooking the harbor.
But it'll take awhile: Site work is planned to begin in 2028, with construction starting in 2030.
🛒 A 24,000-square-foot grocery store is planned for Hood Park in Charlestown — but we don't know which chain it'll be.
The unnamed store, approved by the BPDA board, will include 32 apartments above on Rutherford Avenue.
Charlestown is a grocery desert, with just one full-service grocer, the Whole Foods at Bunker Hill Mall.
🏗️ Construction begins soon at the old Suffolk Downs site in Revere on Portico, a 473-unit apartment building with 33,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.
It's one of few mega-projects actively under construction despite current high costs.
