A Somerville vet's creating a Union Square cat tour

A Somerville vet's office wants to turn Union Square into the center of a cat tour later this month.

The intrigue: Boston-area dogs and their humans have "yappy hour" and dog-friendly patios. A cat tour celebrates felines and their families, says Elizabeth Bisio, head of product and operations at Tandem Vet.

Driving the mews: Tandem is recruiting residents near the Somerville Market Basket to display their cats along the tour between 1-3pm on Nov. 22.

The cats would be chillin' on a windowsill or their front door, unless they're out on a leash with their humans.
Bisio says she'll likely bring her cat, Baela, on a leash and stroller.

If you go: The vet is charging attendees $5 for the tour, with proceeds going to the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association Charities.

No word yet on whether Minerva, the Somerville Community Path's mayor, will join.
