Boston hosts free vaccine clinics

• Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, however, mandated this month that insurers cover any vaccines recommended by the state.

State of play: The clinics will offer COVID-19 and flu vaccines, as well as routine vaccines for children ages 5 and up, from now until at least Dec. 15.

• There won't be any appointments required.
• The first clinic runs Thursday afternoon at the Immigrant Family Services Institute in Mattapan. (Here's the full list.)

Zoom in: Staff will ask people to present insurance cards and IDs if they have them available, but they're not required to get vaccinated.

• If a parent brings in a child for routine vaccines, staff will ask to see a copy of the child's vaccination records.

Be smart: Pregnant parents, babies and older adults should consult a doctor about RSV shots before going to the clinics, the commission says.
