Income inequality in Greater Boston is getting worse, a new report from Boston Indicators found.
By the numbers: The average income for the top 20% today is nearly $400,000 — more than 19 times higher than the bottom 20%.
The top 5% now average just under $700,000. The bottom quintile earns an average of under $21,000.
