Boston chef Asia Mei teams with cannabis producer for THC-infused sauce

• Good News' Big Game Wing sauce sold out around Chicago last year ahead of Super Bowl Sunday. This year, the company has teamed with Mei to create a sauce unique to the Massachusetts market.

Moonshine and Mei herself are well-known as purveyors of some of Boston's best buttermilk fried chicken.

• She's also developed a reputation for her unique sauces for dabbing, dipping and dunking.

What they're saying: "I've always been a sauce girl, and all the regulars, all our friends, kind of refer to me as the 'condiment queen,'" Mei told Axios.

• Mei said it was important for her to develop her own recipe for the sauce that now bears her name and that of her beloved restaurant.

What's in the bottle: Chef Mei's recipe is proprietary, but it's based on the "Go-Go" sauce she's been perfecting at the restaurant.

• Every batch of the sauce is made in the Moonshine kitchen on Dorchester Avenue. The flavorless THC gets added later.

• It's a mixture of sweet, spicy, savory and umami flavors.
• You can find bottles at dispensaries around the area starting Monday.

The sauce is meant to be dabbed onto wings, fried chicken, pizza or anything else an eater wants to liven up with a peppery kick and a cannabis afterglow.

• Each half-ounce serving of sauce from the 100mg THC bottle is a 5mg serving.
