Austrian Airlines launches nonstop flights from Boston to Vienna

Austrian Airlines starts its first nonstop flight service from Boston to Vienna today.

State of play: Petra Schneebauer, Austrian ambassador to the U.S., and other dignitaries will hold a flag ceremony at Logan Airport to celebrate the new route.

Zoom in: The airlines will start with six flights a week, according to a news release.

The flights are nine hours each way.
The flights from Boston to Vienna will typically take off at 5:10pm and arrive at 7:25am local time the next morning.
The flight back will leave at 10:40am and land in Boston at 1:50pm ET.

Airlines have recently added more nonstop flights from Boston.

JetBlue started nonstop flights from Boston to Dublin and Paris, per The Boston Globe.
Frontier announced nonstop flights from Logan to Atlanta, Dallas-Forth Worth and Charlotte, starting in August.
Delta is launching a seasonal nonstop flight from Boston to Honolulu in November, per WCVB.
