Americans' confidence in ICE plummets after Minneapolis shootings

By the numbers: Overall confidence in ICE has fallen 10% since mid-December, following the Trump administration's expanded immigration enforcement.

• Independents showed the biggest swing, with 67% saying they have little confidence in ICE, up from 49% a month ago.
• 51% of Americans want ICE funding to be decreased "a lot" or "a little" — more than foreign aid, food stamps, national defense and other areas polled, per YouGov.
• The majority of Democrats (80%) and Independents (56%) want to see a reduction in ICE spending, compared to just 17% of Republicans who support funding cuts.
• 55% of Republicans support increased ICE funding.
