Trump says he'll "permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries"

• Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, died from her injuries Thursday and fellow West Virginia National Guard member Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, is "fighting for his life," Trump said.

State of play: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services suspended all immigration applications from Afghan nationals with immediate effect on Wednesday night.

• USCIS announced Thursday that Trump had ordered a re-examination of every green card holder from 19 countries of concern.

What he's saying: In his lengthy, late-night Truth Social post that railed against immigrants but began with "a very happy Thanksgiving," Trump accused former President Biden of being responsible for "millions" of illegal admissions and said he would "remove anyone who is not a net asset" to the U.S.

• He added that he would "end all Federal benefits and subsidies to noncitizens of our Country, denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization."

What we're watching: It was not immediately clear which countries would be targeted or how Trump would look to implement such a ban.
