Black Friday sales are here early with Target, Kohl's and Best Buy holding holiday events this weekend and Walmart kicking off a weeklong sale Monday.
Why it matters: With less than three weeks to Thanksgiving, the nation's largest retailers are rolling out deals to entice consumers to shop early and keep shopping.
The big picture: The traditional holiday shopping season morphed during COVID, when more deals moved online and spread out consumer demand over longer periods of time.
- Here's a rundown of major retailers' Black Friday sale plans:
Amazon Black Friday 2024 deals
Amazon has not unveiled details of its Black Friday sale but said on its blog Nov. 5 that details and dates of its extended sale are coming soon.
- Return windows for many products have been extended through Jan. 31, 2025.
Best Buy Black Friday 2024 ad, deals
Best Buy starts dropping doorbuster deals every Friday now through Dec. 20 on its app, website and in stores.
- My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members get early access to doorbusters on Thursdays, the retailer said.
- Its actual Black Friday sale "kicks off more than a week early this year" on Thursday, Nov. 21 and there will be more doorbusters Nov. 22 and Nov. 29. See the Black Friday Sneak Peek ad here.
- Best Buy's Cyber Monday sale is Dec. 1-2.
BJ's Wholesale Club Early Black Friday
BJ's Wholesale Club's Early Black Friday event runs through Nov. 17. Learn more about the sale here.
Costco Black Friday 2024 deals
Costco has started some of its holiday deals and according to a sales book is offering four weeks of savings in several rounds. See a copy of the print book at BlackFriday.com.
- The first sale goes through Nov. 17 and the next Nov. 18-Dec. 2.
- There's also a sale Nov. 20-Dec. 2 and a Cyber Monday sale Dec. 2.
Home Depot Black Friday deals 2024
Home Depot is having a month of Black Friday savings in stores and online with deals that continue through Dec. 4.
- The retailer also posted an ad on its website with offers available through Nov. 27.
JCPenney Black Friday 2024 sale
JCPenney has its early Black Friday access sale from Friday through Nov. 10, the retailer announced.
- There will also be a sale from Nov. 22 to Dec. 1 with "thousands of deals."
- Stores will be closed on Thanksgiving and stores will open at 5am local time Black Friday with giveaways for early shoppers.
Kohl's Black Friday 2024 ad, early sale
Kohl's unveiled details about its Black Friday ad and an early access sale Friday.
- The three-day early access sale runs from Friday through Nov. 10. On Friday, shoppers can earn $15 Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent and then $10 for every $50 spent Nov. 9-10.
- The six-day Black Friday Week sale is Sunday, Nov. 24 through Friday, Nov. 29.
- Stores will be closed on Thanksgiving and open 5am local time Black Friday with a sweepstakes for the first 200 shoppers in each store.
Lowe's Black Friday sale
Lowe's kicked off its "Black Friday Buildup" sale on Halloween and it continues through Nov. 27.
- The retailer said in a news release that its MyLowe's Rewards members get early access to Black Friday doorbusters on Thanksgiving online.
- Store loyalty members can also register to get a free holiday ornament Nov. 8-9, while supplies last online.
Sam's Club November weekend doorbusters, Black Friday plans
Sam's Club posted details of its November savings and Black Friday savings plans on its website.
- The membership club has weekend doorbusters Friday through Nov. 10 online only.
- It will have a weekend sale Nov. 15-17 with early access for plus members.
Staples holiday season deals
Staples has early tech deals available through Nov. 16, the retailer shared in a news release.
- It also has 50% off holiday cards through Nov. 16.
Target Black Friday 2024 early deals
Target is holding a three-day "Early Black Friday sale" now through Saturday and also has daily and weekly holiday deals.
- The retailer's holiday price match is available now through Christmas Eve and pledges price adjustments "if an item's price goes lower at Target later in the season."
Walmart Black Friday Event 1 starts Monday
Walmart is holding two Black Friday sales like last year.
- Event 1 deals start online Nov. 11 at noon ET for Walmart+ members and 5pm ET for all customers. The sale starts in stores Friday, Nov. 15 at 6am local time.
What's next: Event 2 deals begin Nov. 25 at noon ET for Walmart+ members and 5pm ET for all customers.
- The sale begins in stores Friday, Nov. 29 at 6am local time.
