From the silver screen to the wrestling ring, a number of celebrities have endorsed candidates ahead of November's election.
Why it matters: The fodder of fame can motivate fans — such as when singer Taylor Swift's 2023 call to action prompted record-breaking traffic to Vote.org — and shine star power on a campaign.
- Swift backed Harris minutes after the Democratic candidate's debate against former President Trump ended in September.
- Other highly popular, influential artists — Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin — shared their support for Harris after a comedian at a Trump rally in New York on Oct. 27 called Puerto Rico "a floating island of garbage." Each of those artists has ties to the U.S. territory.
Flashback: Celebrities were prominently featured at both parties' national conventions this year.
- Actress Kerry Washington and actor Tony Goldwyn held a surprise "Scandal" reunion on the Democratic National Convention stage, throwing their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris.
- And Dana White, CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, introduced former President Trump at the Republican National Convention — a role typically reserved for a spouse or family member.
Here's a sampling of other celebs who have said they'll support when they do their civic duty this November:
LeBron James: "The choice is clear to me"
Basketball legend LeBron James endorsed Harris in an X post on Oct. 31, sharing a video with abrasive quotes from Trump.
- "When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me," the Lakers player wrote. "VOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!!"
Gracie Abrams: "She is the right leader"
Singer Gracie Abrams endorsed Harris at a Wisconsin rally Oct. 30, characterizing the vice president as "amazing, compassionate and brilliant."
- "She is the right leader at a very tricky time, and we could not be luckier," Abrams said at the rally, where Mumford & Sons, Remi Wolf and members of The National performed.
Arnold Schwarzenegger: "I will always be an American before I am a Republican"
Actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed in a lengthy X post on Oct. 30 that he will vote for Harris.
- "I will always be an American before I am a Republican," he wrote. "That's why, this week, I am voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
- While Schwarzenegger criticized both parties and said he hates politics "more than ever," he said a second Trump presidency would be "four more years of bulls**t with no results that makes us angrier and angrier, more divided, and more hateful."
Marc Anthony: "He's told us what he'll do"
Singer Marc Anthony endorsed Harris in a social media post on Oct. 28, saying he remembers what it was like when Trump was president and how he treated Puerto Ricans.
- "I remember that when our families lacked clean water and electricity,
Trump threw paper towels and called Puerto Rico 'dirty' and 'poor,'" Anthony, who is of Puerto Rican descent, wrote. - "He launched his campaign by calling Latinos criminals and rapists," the singer added. "He's told us what he'll do. He'll separate children from their families and threatened to use the ARMY to do it."
Beyoncé: "I'm here as a mother"
Beyoncé endorsed Harris alongside the singer's mother Tina Knowles and former Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland at a Houston rally on Oct. 25.
- "I'm not here as a celebrity," the 32-time Grammy-award winning entertainer said. "I'm not here as a politician. I'm here as a mother."
- "Imagine our daughters growing up, seeing what's possible with no ceilings, no limitations," she added, having earlier given the Harris campaign permission to use her song "Freedom."
Leonardo DiCaprio: Trump "continues to deny" science
Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio endorsed Harris in a video shared to Instagram, saying her opponent "continues to deny to facts" and "continues to deny the science" of climate change.
- "Climate change is killing the earth and ruining our economy, we need a bold step forward to save our economy, our planet and ourselves," the "Titanic" star and environmentalist said. "That's why I'm voting for Kamala Harris."
Sarah Jessica Parker: "For the love of my country"
Actress Sarah Jessica Parker said she's voting for Harris in a social media post two weeks before Election Day, with a photo of her holding a Harris-Walz sign and a cat in sight.
What she's saying: Parker listed some three dozen reasons as to why, including, "For the love of my country, For our public schools, For books, For common sense gun laws, For a living wage."
- The "Sex and the City" star added, "And for a certain childless cat lady I play on TV."
Michael Keaton: Trump and Musk "aren't your bros"
"Batman" and "Beetlejuice" star Michael Keaton rallied for the Harris campaign in Western Pennsylvania, where he urged young people to vote for the Democratic ticket and "be a hero."
- "This is getting really, really scary," he said, noting that while "chances are" he'd "be OK" under a Trump presidency, the "middle class ain't gonna be OK."
- He added: "If you're young, you sho' nuff ain't going to be OK."
In a video shared to Instagram two weeks before Election Day directed at people interested in attending rallies featuring Trump and billionaire Elon Musk, Keaton said, "They think you're stupid ... they're not your bros."
Eminem rallies for Harris: "Use your voice"
Rap superstar Eminem joined former President Obama at a get-out-the-vote event for Vice President Harris in the final stretch of the election, urging voters to "use your voice."
What he's saying: "I don't think anyone wants an America where people are worried about retribution or what people would do if you make your opinion known," he said to rally-goers in his hometown of Detroit.
Flashback: The lyrical mastermind born Marshall Bruce Mathers III famously roasted Trump and his supporters in a 2017 freestyle rap for the BET Hip Hop Awards and that same year told Vulture Trump has "brainwashed" his supporters."
Bryan Cranston: "I am a father of a daughter"
"Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston said he is "enthusiastically supporting" the Harris-Walz ticket in a speech about reproductive rights at a Phoenix, Arizona, rally.
What he's saying: "I am not a politician; I'm am not a doctor or a lawyer, but I have played all of those on television," the actor said.
- He continued: "But I am a father of a daughter, and it's important to me for her life now and for the future and other fathers' daughters to be able to have within their lifetime the fundamental right of freedom of choice."
Julia Roberts: "I believe in Georgia"
Actress Julia Roberts campaigned in her home state of Georgia for Harris in October. She implored men in the critical battleground state to back the vice president.
What she's saying: "I believe in Georgia. I wouldn't have come home if I didn't believe that we can accomplish really beautiful goals that will extend beyond our state's borders," she said at a rally for Harris, according to Harper's Bazaar.
Billie Eilish and Finneas: "Vote like your life depends on it"
Singer Billie Eilish and her musician brother Finneas endorsed the Harris-Walz ticket on National Voter Registration Day in a joint Instagram video Sept. 17 featuring the Grammy-and Oscar-winning pair.
Driving the news: "We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy," Eilish said.
- She concluded her message with a call to "vote like your life depends on it," adding, "because it does."
Bruce Springsteen: "One vote" is "precious"
Singer Bruce Springsteen backed Harris and Walz for the White House in a 3-minute video posted on Instagram, praising their vision of an inclusive America and values of freedom and social justice.
- He said he believed Harris' plan for the economy centered everyone.
- "That's the vision of America I've been consistently writing about for 55 years," he said.
Calling Trump "the most dangerous candidate for president" in his lifetime, the New Jersey rock megastar condemned what he described as Trump's "disdain" for American institutions.
Taylor Swift: "Childless cat lady" for Harris
In a late-night Instagram post following the conclusion of the debate between Harris and Trump, Swift shared her endorsement of the vice president to her 283 million Instagram followers.
- NPR reported that as of 11 a.m. ET Sept. 11, over 306,000 people had visited vote.gov using the URL Swift shared online, prompting followers to register.
What she's saying: "I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos," the pop superstar said of Harris, who she said "fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them."
Some celebs followed Swift's lead, like "Childless dog lady" Stevie Nicks and Aubrey Plaza, who shared a picture holding the famed Grumpy cat captioned "HARRIS 🇺🇸 WALZ."
George Clooney: "So excited" to support Harris' "historic quest"
Oscar winner George Clooney, a longtime Democratic fundraiser, endorsed Harris after calling on Biden to depart from the race.
- In his statement endorsing Harris, Clooney applauded the president's decision, writing, "President Biden has shown what true leadership is. He's saving democracy once again."
Spike Lee: "SISTA" Harris "TO DA RESCUE"
Oscar-winning director Spike Lee celebrated Harris' campaign the same day Biden dropped out of the race, sharing a photo of her on Instagram and writing, "ONCE AGAIN A SISTA COMES TO DA RESCUE."
- He also shared a photo holding signs that read, "KAMALA" and "FOR THE PEOPLE."
Charli XCX: The "brat" campaign is born
Charli XCX also weighed in with a short-but-sweet message just hours after Biden endorsed his vice president, writing on X, "kamala IS brat."
Zoom out: The British musician's post was swiftly embraced by the campaign, with the Kamala HQ account branding its page around the album's aesthetic.
Jeff Bridges, Mark Hamill, Mark Ruffalo and others: "White dude" celebs for Harris
"The Dude," Luke Skywalker, the Hulk and others joined a number of Harris allies — including now-VP nominee Gov. Tim Walz — to rally for Harris in a "White Dudes for Harris" Zoom call that raised around $4 million.
What he's saying: "I'm white, I'm a dude and I'm for Harris," Bridges said on the call, saying he would be "so exited" to have a female president.
Harris has picked up support from a number of other celebrities, such as musician John Legend, actress Barbra Streisand, talk show host Oprah, businessman Mark Cuban and actress Viola Davis, among others.
Buzz Aldrin "wholeheartedly" endorses Trump
Famed astronaut Buzz Aldrin endorsed Trump on Oct. 30, citing an elevated focus on "human space exploration" under the Trump administration and saying he is "enthused and excited" by private sector advancements through "visionaries like Elon Musk."
- "For me, for the future of our Nation, to meet enormous challenges, and for the proven policy accomplishments above, I believe the nation is best served by voting for Donald J. Trump," the Apollo 11 astronaut wrote. "I wholeheartedly endorse him for President of the United States."
49ers' Nick Bosa signals support for Trump
San Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa interrupted his teammates' post-game interview days before Election Day to flash a "Make American Great Again" hat before running way.
- "I'm not gonna talk too much about it, but I think it's an important time," he told reporters.
Mel Gibson: Harris has a "miserable track record"
Actor and filmmaker Mel Gibson said Harris has "no policies to speak of" in a video released by TMZ and said "that's a pretty good guess" in response a cameraman's speculation that he'd vote for Trump.
- "I know what it'd be like if we let [Harris] in, and that ain't good," he said. "Miserable track record... and she's got the IQ of a fence post."
Jason Aldean on Trump: "That's my guy"
Country singer Jason Aldean shared a video message from Trump at his Oct. 6 concert in Macon, Georgia.
The big picture: The crowd cheered as Trump appeared on the big screen and called Aldean "a friend" and a "true American patriot" whose music inspires "countless hardworking, God-fearing citizens all across our nation" every day.
- "That's my guy," Aldean said after the Trump-Vance logo flashed up on the screen following the Republican presidential nominee's appeal for votes.
Elon Musk: "I fully endorse President Trump"
Tech mogul Elon Musk endorsed the former president minutes after he was rushed off stage by Secret Service agents at the Pennsylvania rally shooting.
- The billionaire, who originally backed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, has leveraged his massive following — 197 million on X — to rally support for the former president and criticize Biden's policies.
- Musk has also come under fire for amplifying false narratives and conspiracy theories on his app.
- He's become one of the newest GOP mega-donors, funneling nearly $75 million in three months to his pro-Trump America PAC.
Hulk Hogan: Trump is "the toughest of them all"
Former wrestler Hulk Hogan took the stage at the RNC to endorse Trump, ripping off his jacket and shirt to reveal a Trump-Vance muscle tank underneath.
Zoom out: "When they took a shot at my hero," he said of the assassination attempt just before the RNC kicked off, "And they tried to kill the president of the United States, enough was enough."
Kid Rock: "Tried and true" Trump
Country music singer Kid Rock, who performed at the 2024 RNC, has been a fervent supporter of the former president throughout his three presidential bids.
Flashback: In 2016, the musician told Rolling Stone he was "digging" Trump and has since visited the White House on multiple occasions.
Amber Rose: "Media has lied" about Trump
Model and rapper Amber Rose threw her support behind the former president at the RNC, saying, "These are my people. This is where I belong," of Trump supporters.
Catch up quick: In 2016, she called Trump a "a f*****g idiot."
- But at the 2024 RNC, she said, "the best chance we have to give our babies a better life is to elect Donald Trump president of the United States."
Trump's 2024 bid has also picked up the support of Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, actor Dennis Quaid, actress Rosanne Barr and actor Jon Voight, among others.
