Trump adds RFK Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard to transition team

Driving the news: "As President Trump's broad coalition of supporters and endorsers expands across partisan lines, we are proud that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard have been added to the Trump/Vance Transition team," Trump campaign senior adviser Brian Hughes said in a statement.

The big picture: Kennedy told Tucker Carlson in an interview aired Monday that he had been asked to join Trump's transition team and that he's "looking forward to that."

• Kennedy, who suspended his presidential campaign last week and threw his support behind Trump, has said that he is working to "get Trump elected."

• Gabbard, who left the Democratic Party in 2022 following her unsuccessful 2020 presidential bid, endorsed Trump on Monday.

Zoom out: The former president has already named two of his biggest donors, Linda McMahon and Howard Lutnick, to be the co-chairs of his transition team tasked with preparing for a possible Trump return to the White House.

• His two eldest sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, are serving as honorary chairs of the transition team.
