Sailor attempted to access Biden's medical records, Pentagon says

• The sailor, who was assigned to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Fort Belvoir, was administratively punished and continues to serve in the Navy.

Zoom in: The Naval Criminal Investigative Service opened an investigation into the incident after becoming aware of it on Feb. 26 and concluded its probe by April 24.

• Two days after the investigation was opened, Biden underwent his annual physical examination, which found no new concerns and that the president was fit for duty.

What they're saying: Pentagon spokesperson Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder said in a press conference Tuesday that the record inappropriately accessed by the sailor "was not the electronic health record of the president of the United States."

• Ryder did not clarify what the record was.

• "The secretary was notified in February, when the Navy became aware," he said. "The Navy also notified the White House through channels at the time."
