How to watch the Kentucky Derby
The 151st Kentucky Derby is Saturday, the first race of the Triple Crown.
The big picture: The Run for the Roses is held at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Undercard races will be held throughout the day, and the main event will begin at 6:57pm.
Driving the news: Trainer Bob Baffert is returning after his three-year suspension when his horse Medina Spirit won in 2021 and was disqualified for a positive drug test.
- He will have two horses in the run, Rodriguez and Citizen Bull.
By the numbers: There are 21 race-eligible horses with 20 taking a post. View post data and win percentages here.
- The prize purse is $5 million. The winner will take home $3.1 million, with the jockey receiving $310,000. The second through fifth-place finishes will also take home money.
