1 big thing: 🤘 Bon Jovi's big Rock Hall showcase
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will transform into a utopia of big hair, glam outfits and arena rock with the opening of the exhibition "Bon Jovi: Forever."
Why it matters: It's rare for one act to occupy an entire floor of the Rock Hall, let alone have an entire weekend dedicated to them.
Driving the news: The exhibition, on the museum's Level 6, opens to the general public Sunday.
- It will be preceded by a Bon Jovi-themed fan experience and listening party taking place today.
- And there's a Q&A with band members inside the Foster Theater tomorrow, which will stream live on the museum's front plaza at 3:30pm.
The intrigue: "Bon Jovi: Forever" features artifacts from the band's 40-year career, including the double-neck guitar Richie Sambora played in the "Wanted Dead or Alive" music video and Jon Bon Jovi's leather jacket from the 1988 New Jersey Syndicate Tour.
- Also on display are the original handwritten lyrics for "Livin' on a Prayer," drummer Tico Torres' kick drum from the 1988 tour and Jon Bon Jovi's Gibson acoustic guitar from the "Blaze of Glory" video, among many other items.

The big picture: The exhibition comes on the heels of "Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story," a four-episode docuseries released in April on Hulu.
- The Rock Hall's expansive showcase puts Bon Jovi in a unique group of acts to occupy an entire floor — a list including The Rolling Stones, U2 and Bruce Springsteen.
What they're saying: "When we were inducted into the Hall of Fame, we knew we wanted to have a continuing relationship, not only with the [Rock] Hall but with the fans who visit Cleveland every year," Jon Bon Jovi said in a statement.
If you go: Tickets for today's fan experience start at $67 and include a sneak preview of the exhibition.
- The museum will offer more special, ticketed previews starting at 9am tomorrow.
2. 👀 Homelessness (and Axios) at the City Club
Homelessness in Cleveland is not caused by "abstract and distant forces," Daniel Kerr argues in his 2011 book "Derelict Paradise."
Reality check: "[It's] a result of the accumulated decisions made by real actors in the public and private sectors over a century and a quarter," he writes.
Why it matters: Cleveland remains the second-poorest big city in the United States. Kerr's book, a lively and rigorously sourced local history, positions the city's enduring poverty as the product of social policies designed by and for elite institutions.
- It's also a crash course in some of Cleveland's pivotal 20th-century moments and movements.
Driving the news: Kerr will appear at the City Club of Cleveland today for a forum on homelessness and urban development.
- You can watch a livestream at noon at the City Club website or tune in to WKSU (89.7 FM).
💭 Sam's thought bubble: I'm a professed Kerr acolyte and am honored to be moderating the conversation — my first-ever invite to the City Club.
- I plan to ask Kerr about the structural factors entrenching homelessness in Cleveland and to tease out the book's central question: Who benefits from it?
The latest: This week, Cleveland City Council approved $2 million for the city's new "Home for Every Neighbor" program, which seeks to rehouse 150 people sleeping on Cleveland's streets by year-end.

3. The Terminal: Continuing the conversation

4. 🎢 Ohio's tallest coaster remains closed
It's been a roller coaster year for Ohio's premier amusement park, and not in a good way.
Catch up quick: Cedar Point debuted its Top Thrill 2 coaster last month to much hype and fanfare — though not from the hometown Sandusky Register — but shut down the ride a week into the season due to mechanical issues.
The latest: TT2 remains closed, and the ride's manufacturer is working to adjust the vehicles, Cedar Point announced Tuesday.
- The park did not specify a reopening date.
Flashback: The original Top Thrill Dragster closed in August 2021 after a metal piece flew off the ride and struck a guest in the head, causing her serious injuries.
- Cedar Point redesigned Top Thrill 2 to include three propulsive launches, one backward, that culminate in a 120-mph trip over a 420-foot tower.
The bottom line: Cedar Point still has the best portfolio of coasters in the United States, but the thrill-seekers who planned special outings to brave the TT2 may have to postpone their plans.

5. 🍽️ Dinner + a show: Sneakerheads unite
Midwest sneaker aficionados will unite Sunday for the 330 SneakGeekz Convention.
The intrigue: Running from 4-9pm at Red Space on Superior Avenue, the event features clothing designers and sneaker vendors, plus a fashion show starting at 7pm.
Between the lines: This year's event is titled "Carpe Vitam: The Mamba Year," inviting attendees to bring their rarest jerseys and shoes associated with late basketball legend Kobe Bryant.
If you go: Tickets start at $20.
Worthy of your time: Red Space puts you right down the road from AsianTown, where you can get all the Vietnamese food you can handle.
- You can't go wrong with Superior Pho, which is less than a 10-minute walk away.
