1 big thing: 🎸 The Rock Hall hosts "SNL"
Live from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, it's Saturday Night!
Why it matters: The Rock Hall's new exhibit, "SNL: Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of Music," highlights one of America's great pop culture institutions.
- It's the museum's most high-profile exhibit since 2022's Beatles showcase.
Context: "Saturday Night Live" celebrated its 50th season earlier this year with a three-hour TV special.
- The Rock Hall exhibit, which opens today, takes its name from a documentary about the show's great music moments directed by Questlove of The Roots.
State of play: "50 Years of Music" is located on the museum's bottom floor and mimics the façade from "SNL's" Studio 8H in New York City.
- Things begin where "SNL" does. Visitors can stand on a replica of the stage where celebrity hosts do their cold open.
Between the lines: From there, it's off to a room where iconic moments play on a screen with wall-to-wall surround sound and artifacts scattered throughout.
- There's everything from The Lonely Island's "D—k in a Box" and Will Ferrell's cowbell gear to Dana Carvey and Mike Myers' "Wayne's World" clothes and "The Blues Brothers" suits.
- There are also numerous music artifacts, including dresses worn by Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter, plus the shirt Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder wore to honor the late Kurt Cobain in 1994.
💭 Troy's thought bubble: I'm not a diehard "SNL" fan, but you don't have to be to enjoy the exhibit.
- Walking in, you really feel transported into Studio 8H, and there's something from every era of "SNL."
If you go: "SNL: Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of Music" is included with regular museum admission.
- The Rock Hall will welcome "SNL" veteran Fred Armisen for a special event celebrating the exhibit on June 14. Tickets are $40.
2. Cleveland inches up annual parks rankings

Cleveland is now the 30th best park city in the country, a new ranking finds.
Why it matters: City parks serve as community meeting spots and civic spaces, offer room for exercise and fresh air, and can draw in new residents.
Driving the news: The ranking is from the 2025 ParkScore index, an annual list from the Trust for Public Land, a pro-park nonprofit.
- The report ranks the 100 most populous U.S. cities' park systems based on five categories: acreage, access, amenities, investment and equity.
By the numbers: Cleveland moves up one ranking spot from last year and remains in the top third, but has fallen from its highest ranking (23rd, in 2022).
Zoom in: Just like last year, Cleveland earned high marks for access — 88% of city residents live within a 10-minute walk of a park — and for amenities like basketball courts, splash pads and recreation centers.
Yes, but: Cleveland still falls well below the national average in park acreage, both in median park size and park land as a percent of total city area.
🚾 Stat du jour: Cleveland also scored poorly in public bathrooms, with only 0.8 per 10,000 residents.
Earlier this month, the Cleveland Planning Commission formally adopted the city's Parks and Recreation Master Plan, drafted with community input to steer policies and funding for decades to come.
3. The Terminal: Shining a light on local news

4. 🍽️ Dinner + a show: Jason Aldean
Rock band Breaking Benjamin kicked off the Blossom Music Center season earlier this week, but the first summer blockbuster show is tonight.
The intrigue: Country star Jason Aldean, who has routinely packed the venue in recent years, pulls in at 7:30pm.
- Blossom is the first stop on Aldean's "Full Throttle Tour," featuring Nate Smith and RaeLynn as the opening acts.
Flashback: The last time Aldean played Blossom, he was knee-deep in controversy over the music video to his hit "Try That in a Small Town."
If you go: Tickets start at $78.50 for lawn seats.
Stop by: Brubaker's Pub in Stow (Summit County) is a 10-minute drive from Blossom and a popular stop for fans before and after concerts.
- The Friday night drink special is a $4 shot of Fireball Whisky. Be sure to drive safely.
5. 2 new direct flights to go...
Frontier Airlines launched a new direct flight from Cleveland to Boston yesterday and launches Cleveland to Nashville today.
State of play: The budget airline, which established a crew base in Cleveland in 2022, now flies direct to 22 destinations.
By the numbers: In 2024, 2.9 million passengers flew on Frontier flights from Hopkins. Only United Airlines saw more passenger volume.
Zoom in: The Boston flights will depart Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 6am.
- The Nashville flights will depart Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6:55am.
🛫 The intrigue: Troy departed for Nashville last night and just missed what could've been an extremely low-cost trip.
- Frontier is offering promotional fares as low as $49.
If you're flying this weekend, you'll be one of approximately 128,000 expected to pass through the Hopkins Terminal.
- Airport officials are urging passengers to arrive early, especially during peak hours: 4-6am, 11am-1pm and 5-7pm.
