Axios Chicago Weekender

August 28, 2025
😀 Hi, friends! It's Labor Day weekend which means an extra day to soak in the final days of summer!
- Oasis is in town and so is their Wicker Park pop-up shop!
Today's newsletter is 913 words — a 3.5-minute read.
1 big thing: Oasis hits Chicago for first U.S. stop
The British invasion comes to Chicago as the highly anticipated reunion of Oasis hits the stage tonight at Soldier Field.
State of play: Oasis is playing only in Chicago, New York (MetLife Stadium) and Los Angeles (Rose Bowl) so thousands of fans are expected to travel miles to see the band at Soldier Field.
- Local fans have already been treated to a viral pop-up store in Wicker Park, which drew long lines when it opened on Tuesday and will be open through Sept. 2.
Zoom out: The band has sold almost 75 million albums worldwide and is releasing a remastered 30th anniversary version of its first album, "Definitely Maybe," in early October.
- The album was the fastest-selling debut in British history.
What they're saying: "Oasis reuniting is a once-impossible moment turned real," former WXRT DJ Ryan Arnold tells Axios. "It's the ultimate case of unfinished business, and fans are traveling from everywhere to witness history that almost never happened."

Flashback: The volatile rockers took the world by storm in the 1990s with hits like "Wonderwall," "Champagne Supernova" and "Don't Look Back in Anger."
- The Manchester band, fronted by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, broke up in 2009. The last time the oft-feuding brothers were in Chicago was in 2008 at Allstate Arena.
If you go: Show kicks off at 7:30 at Soldier Field.

3. Moyo's Move: I tried goat yoga
It's not every day you get to exercise with a goat!
Goat Yoga Chicago lets you move your body with furry friends for a fun fitness trend.
The big picture: The 60-minute class is an interactive experience that yogis believe helps with anxiety, depression and stress.
How it works: The first half of class is a yoga flow, followed by photo ops and playtime with your new friends.
- Staff sprinkle food for the goats during class, even on your back so don't be surprised if a four-legged yogi joins your poses.

🗯️ Moyo's thought bubble: I had a lot of fun! I've never been so close to goats and they are funny creatures! I felt relaxed, but watch your step. The goats did some sprinkling at the end of class.
- If goats aren't your thing, try puppy yoga or deep end fitness, both unique twists to staying active.

If you go: Classes are hosted at Goat Yoga Chicago's farm or studio and a mat is provided.
- Farm: 11N435 Muirhead Road in Elgin.
- Studio: 100 W. Higgins Road, Suite F-70 in South Barrington.
- Tickets start at $39.
