1 big thing: 🏡 DaBaby's crib is for sale
Rapper DaBaby is selling his Lake Norman mansion for $6,899,999.
Why it matters: It's not clear if the Charlotte native is relocating outside the area, but the listing stands out for a rapper who has spent much of his career making sure the world knows where home is through his music.
Zoom in: DaBaby, whose real name is Johnathan Kirk, bought the property for $2.3M in 2019 around the time his music career took off with his hit single "Suge." The music video for "Suge," filmed in west Charlotte, earned DaBaby two Grammy nominations.
Layout: The 11,241-square-foot, Tuscan-style estate has five bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms.
- Inside, you'll find soaring ceilings, a wine cellar, home theater, vintage arcade room, in-home barbershop and a spacious gym.
Features: There's plenty to do across the gated nine-acre property, including a half football field, outdoor basketball court, mini golf course and playground.
- While the property doesn't come with Lake Norman waterfront views, it does have a pool and hot tub.

- To wash it down, we had the Greenhouse ($16), flora's take on a cucumber margarita.

5. 🚨 McKenzie's Moves: Seeing red at Barry's
McKenzie here, back with another edition of McKenzie's Moves, where I try fitness classes and wellness services around town.
- This time, I finally got under the infamous red lights at Barry's in South End.
Catch up quick: Barry's started in West Hollywood in 1998 and credits itself with helping kick off the boutique fitness boom by bringing HIIT into a group setting.
- After years of hearing how hard it is, I had to see for myself.
What to expect: 50 minutes alternating between treadmill intervals and strength training. Instructors call out speeds and weights, but you can adjust.
- Think sprints, rows, presses, squats and abs — all to a loud EDM playlist.
- I took Matthew's total body Run x Lift class. Yes, I survived. And yes, I was drenched.
If you go: A drop-in is $30; 30 classes/month is $265.
💪 What's the toughest fitness class you've taken in Charlotte? Send me a note at [email protected].
🗣️ Alex is on WFAE with Mike Collins this morning.
🤯 Alexis is rarely surprised by the features of a luxury property but a football field in the backyard managed to do it.
🏋️♀️ Melissa, who edited this newsletter, supposes she could live without the lake views if she had a gym like DaBaby's. Actually, no — it's lake views or bust.
