Intercontinental Exchange CEO Jeffrey Sprecher, husband of Kelly Loeffler, recently bought a $5.6 million condo at the Wharf, per D.C. property and LLC records.
The big picture: Loeffler, a former senator from Georgia, was sworn in as President Trump's head of the Small Business Administration last month, while Sprecher oversees global financial exchanges, including the NYSE.
- The condo is the latest multimillion-dollar pad in Washington linked to Trump administration officials — a cohort that's unprecedented when it comes to wealth.
- Silicon Valley entrepreneur and White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks recently purchased a $10.3 million Northwest D.C. residence, while billionaire Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick picked up Fox News host Bret Baier's $25 million Foxhall mansion.
State of play: The lux condo comes with three bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms and views of the Southwest waterfront.
- Plus: A terrace and access to building amenities like a saltwater pool.
What they're saying: Sprecher and Loeffler didn't respond to Axios' request for comment, nor did spokespeople for the SBA or Intercontinental Exchange.
Between the lines: Sprecher is listed as the contact for the LLC that purchased the condo, per D.C. records.
The intrigue: A trust connected to Michael Boren, Trump's pick for under secretary of natural resources and the environment at the Agriculture Department, and his wife, Joan, was behind the $6 million purchase of a penthouse condo in the same building, per D.C. records.
Zoom out: This isn't the only jaw-dropping item in Sprecher's real estate line-up: The couple's $10.5 million mansion in Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood has parquet flooring from Versailles, nine antique fireplaces and a kitchen floor containing fossilized dino footprints.
