President-elect Trump's nominee for commerce secretary, Howard Lutnick, is picking up Fox News host Bret Baier's Foxhall mansion, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Why it matters: The property sold for $25 million, breaking a record for the most expensive D.C. home sale.

The big picture: Baier and his wife, Amy, listed the house last year for $32 million, before dropping the price to $29 million this year. It's the first confirmed Washington-area property purchase by a member of Trump's incoming administration — one that's unprecedented when it comes to wealth.

Lutnick, the CEO and chair of investment firm Cantor Fitzgerald, has an estimated net worth of $2 billion.

State of play: The French chateau-inspired house was built in 2022. It sits on a 1.5-acre lot and comes with five bedrooms and eight bathrooms across 16,250 square feet.

Also included: A gated entrance, heated floors, a cinema, a spa, a fitness area, a two-story indoor sports court, a golf simulator, a heated pool, and a putting green.
