Jayden Daniels, a 23-year-old rookie quarterback, is Washington's new hero.
The big picture: Everyone is talking about how well he throws and runs with the ball — suddenly Washington football is back on the national stage.
- The Commanders (3-1) play the Cleveland Browns (1-3) at 1pm Sunday, home at Northwest Stadium.
Catch up quick: Daniels has the wow factor, and he's leading a franchise turnaround, along with new head coach Dan Quinn.
- An explosive three-game winning streak put the Commanders at the top of the NFC East after week four.
- Daniels has thrown three touchdowns and rushed for four more so far.
- His jersey has been the highest-selling on Fanatics for the past week.
By the numbers: Daniels' completion percentage so far (82.1%) is the highest ever through four consecutive games in NFL history.

You might be wondering: The Commanders have gotten so much wrong over the years. How did they land Daniels?
- In April, the franchise was looking for its first big name under owner Josh Harris when they chose Daniels as the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL draft.
- Known for his work ethic and sprints, Daniels had won the Heisman Trophy at LSU.
"I just want to be the best teammate to help the team win and we can bring back some victories back to D.C., to the DMV, and have some fun," Daniels said at the time.
💠Time for the bandwagon? There's no better moment for casual fans to tune back into Washington football.
- Many moons ago, sports writer Tony Kornheiser penned his "Bandwagon" column in the Washington Post, all the way to a Super Bowl victory in 1992.
Kornheiser keeps getting asked if he'll revive the column now, he said this week on his podcast, "The Tony Kornheiser Show."
- "And my response is the same: [Daniels] looks great. Can he be this great, can he actually be this great, and is he going to get hurt like Robert Griffin?" (D.C. fans still have RGIII trauma, after the promising QB's career met injury woes.)
What's next: Beating the Browns to go 4-1 would make a big statement ahead of a hot matchup with the Baltimore Ravens.
