Restaurant roundup: Barbecue with a side of Americana music, kombucha taproom closes

Popular BBQ food truck Animales is partnering with the owner of North Loop jazz club Berlin to open a music venue and restaurant in Minneapolis' Harrison neighborhood this fall, per a release.

• The venue's main stage will book local and national musicians focused on the Americana genre, while the food menu will be a mix of old favorites and new items — including the truck's ribs and pork belly.

🚱 Būch, the local "hard kombucha" brand is ending all production and closing the beer-free taproom it opened in Northeast Minneapolis in 2023, it announced on social media Tuesday.

• Remaining beverages can be purchased at the taproom through Thursday.

🍍 Ono Hawaiian Plates is coming back to North Loop. After being forced to close when food hall North Loop Galley abruptly shut down in May, the fast-casual spot will reopen down the street in the former Guacaya Bistreaux, according to North Loop's neighborhood association..

• The new space will have indoor and outdoor seating for up to 140 and is expected to open by the end of September.

🍕 Pig Ate My Pizza, the lauded 'za spot from the group behind Travail, is returning to its original location in Robbinsdale and also expanding to Bloomington.

• Travail's Nouvelle Kitchen & Brewery, which replaced Pig Ate My Pizza in 2022, has transitioned back to the Pig concept with a "nostalgic look and feel," per a release.
• That location is open now, with the 180-seat Bloomington restaurant expected to debut this fall.

🌯 Afro Deli's downtown St. Paul location has moved across the street, per the Pioneer Press. Pino's Pizzeria, the long-running skyway pizza spot that shut down in March after Alliance Bank Center closed, will take its place.
