Voters in Minnesota's 3rd Congressional District will pick a representative for an open U.S. House seat in Tuesday's election.
State of play: Former DFL state Sen. Kelly Morrison and Republican Tad Jude, a judge and former state representative and state senator, are going head-to-head for the west metro seat.
Catch up quick: The suburban district is currently represented by outgoing Democratic U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips.
Phillips announced his retirement during his unsuccessful presidential run.
Flashback: In 2018 Phillips flipped the one-time swing district from GOP control for the first time in decades.
He went on to win the increasingly blue part of the metro by wide margins in 2020 and 2022.
