If you're observing Passover, which runs from sundown today to April 30 this year, it's time to stock up on the traditional foods.
The big picture: Unleavened bread called matzo and spongy gefilte fish are classic staples of the holiday table — but prices can vary across the country.
State of play: In San Francisco, matzo and gefilte fish cost $6.11 and $9.37 on average, respectively, in the two weeks leading up to Passover, according to NIQ, which tracks buying behavior.
That's a roughly 33% increase from 2019 to 2023 for matzo and a more than 61% increase for gefilte fish.
Nationally, the costs are $5.07 and $7.07, respectively.
