The Easter Bunny comes this weekend, which means there are holiday brunches and egg hunts around the county.
Here are some festive activities and other events to get your weekend going:
Friday
Don't miss the Padres vs. SF Giants in the opening weekend of MLB baseball with special promotions for fans, like an opening series hat.
- When and where: Games are Thursday at 1:10pm, Friday at 6:40pm, Saturday at 4:15pm and Sunday at 1:10pm at Petco Park. Plus, the newly renovated Gallagher Square is open for standing room only.
- Cost: Tickets are $32+
🎭Balboa Theater Centennial Celebration
This 100th anniversary event features a silent film honoring the military, a twist on "Saturday morning cartoons" for kids and local dance performances.
- When and where: Shows and screenings are Thursday-Sunday at the Balboa Theatre downtown.
- Cost: $3.50
🪩 Studio Sessions: Dance Music 5
Dance until the wee hours at a party from the creative team responsible for Barrio Logan jazz nights.
- When and where: 9pm at The Merrow
- Cost: $15-$35
Cheer on the Wave as they host Seattle Reign FC in a playoff rematch from last season.
- When and where: Kickoff is at 7pm at Snapdragon Stadium.
- Cost: Tickets are $15+
Saturday
Celebrate the start of baseball season at the 12th annual street festival with live music, food and drink vendors and local mascots outside Petco Park.
- When and where: 10am-4:30pm on J St from 7th to 10th Avenue in East Village.
- Cost: Free
Take a yoga class, and then explore the artwork and multi-sensory installations in galleries at an art and technology museum.
When and where: 10am at WNDR Museum in Gaslamp.
Cost: $40
🐣EGGstravaganza Spring Festival
Kids can race around Carlsbad's largest egg hunt and enjoy other activities like face-painting, cookie decorating and "soak the bunny."
- When and where: 10am-1pm at Poinsettia Park
- Cost: $5 for activity cards and unlimited fun zone wristbands
Party with one of the highest-energy performers touring today.
- When and where: 9pm at Belly Up Tavern
- Cost: $25
Sunday
🥞Kettner Exchange Easter Brunch
Enjoy the annual holiday brunch featuring a live DJ, meet and greet with the KEX bunny and hidden eggs with special prizes.
- When and where: Reservations start at 11am at the Little Italy restaurant.
🎷Books & Records Easter Brunch
What's better than a brunch buffet with live jazz? The specialty menu includes smoked salmon, banana bread french toast and crispy chicken and biscuits drizzled with hot honey.
- When and where: Reservations are 9am-3pm at the restaurant in Bankers Hill.
- Cost: $60/person
Appreciate Johann Sebastian Bach with a special performance from San Diego civic organist Raul Prieto Ramirez.
- When and where: 2pm Sunday at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion
- Cost: Free
