Banana Ball hijinks are headed back to San Antonio next year.
State of play: The Savannah Bananas will take on the Texas Tailgaters Sept. 10-11 at the Alamodome.
How it works: Games involve dancing umpires, trick plays and novelty rules.
- While players rehearse stunts and comedy bits, the baseball action itself is competitive and unscripted.
Yes, but: Banana Ball is wildly popular. If you want a chance to go, sign up for the ticket lottery by the end of October and cross your fingers.
Context: Banana Ball isn't new to San Antonio, but this will mark the first Alamo City appearance for the Savannah Bananas, the original team behind the viral baseball phenomenon.
- Other teams in the Banana Ball league have played here before. The Texas Tailgaters faced the Party Animals at Wolff Municipal Stadium in 2025 and returned this year to take on the Loco Beach Coconuts.
