CPS Energy expects full power restoration by Tuesday

By the numbers: About 110,000 customers lost power at the storm's peak.

• As of Monday afternoon, 290 outages were affecting 1,240 customers.
• CPS has replaced about 50 utility poles and responded to roughly 500 downed lines.

Zoom in: Almaraz said crews were increasingly tackling individual outages, which can take longer to repair. Fallen trees, downed wires and damaged utility poles were also slowing restoration efforts.

• Lingering outages forced Southwest ISD to cancel Monday classes at Medio Creek and Sun Valley elementary schools.
• City officials expect all traffic signals to be operational by Wednesday. Until then, drivers should treat intersections with damaged or nonfunctioning signals as four-way stops.

What they're saying: Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones noted that some of the hardest-hit areas are vulnerable communities and emphasized that residents will not be fined for not cleaning up storm debris.

What's next: The San Antonio Food Bank, which hosted community food distributions over the weekend, will continue providing assistance this week at its Highway 151 campus, which serves about 400 families a day.

• The Food Bank is also seeking food and monetary donations and volunteers to help meet increased demand.
