Uber adds live video to San Antonio teen rides

• San Antonio is one of nine U.S. markets getting the feature before a nationwide rollout in the coming weeks.

How it works: Parents receive a notification when live video is available and can tap it to check in during the ride.

• The teen and driver are notified when a parent starts watching, and the stream ends when the trip does.
• Uber says the video is encrypted and isn't accessible after the trip by the teen, driver or guardian.
• Uber can review the encrypted recording if a safety incident is reported.
