Catch up quick:Karma Espresso Bar began as a trailer in Alamo Ranch and opened its first brick-and-mortar shop off Stone Oak Parkway this summer. (The trailer remains open.)
I made a beeline here when I saw they make their syrups in-house.
The vibe: Bright and airy with a refreshing blue and orange color palette. I loved touches like the popular, donut-shaped Ikea wall lights, and the ceramics on every table.
What to try: An iced dark forest latte with oat milk ($6.75), made with blackberry and rosemary.
The housemade syrup makes the natural flavors sing, and there's no artificial sweetness to it at all. It allows you to taste the individual notes of espresso, milk and syrup.
Six-word review: Medium sweetness complements pure, unique flavor.
