Jue Let's Asian-forward cocktails shine

It would be worth stopping by the new Asian-inspired cocktail bar Jue Let at Pearl just to see the chicken foot disco ball.

Yes, but: It's the drinks that are worth staying for.

The intrigue: Jue Let, which took over the former Blue Box space at Pearl, is named after the Chinese caretaker of a young James Beard and an early influence on the culinary legend's palette.

It's the latest project from chef-owner Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, the three-time James Beard semifinalist behind nearby Best Quality Daughter.

The vibe: The bar is fun with beautiful design details. There are two karaoke rooms, a Chinese fortune-telling machine and a variety of seating inside and out.

What to order: Mythical Beast — St. George Terroir gin, Zirbenz Stone Pine liqueur, Pasubio, pine needle syrup, lemon and a pine needle.

Cost: $10.

Six-word review: Refreshing, aromatic with just-right piney undertones.
