Big brands take over San Antonio for marathon

Catch up quick: The inaugural San Antonio event is happening this weekend, overlapping with The Running Event — a major industry conference and trade show that's brought several big brands to town.

Zoom in: Nike, ASICS, Adidas and others have hosted meet-ups and activations throughout the week. Thursday morning I found St. Paul Square — where Nike has been hosting events — decked out with clever marathon signage.

Zoom out: Nike deployed similar ads during the New York City Marathon, and this felt like a Texas-style take on that energy, if on a smaller scale.
