👋 Hey, it's Madalyn! I've been pushing myself with longer weekend runs and rewarding myself with Bagel Babes, a new food truck parked at Eight Ball Coffee in Southtown.
What to try: Grab the Wild Alaskan ($12.99) from the bagel truck, then snag an iced salted caramel oat milk latte ($6.90) at Eight Ball while you wait.
The bagel comes stacked with smoked salmon, capers, red onion, fresh dill and a pillowy schmear of cream cheese. On my second visit, I asked for a lighter spread.
I love cream cheese, but I love tasting the toppings' pungency and the bagel's toasted-outside, incredibly fluffy-inside texture even more.
The latte delivers, too: you can actually taste the salted caramel, which isn't always a given, and the ice-to-coffee ratio is perfect.
The bottom line: I definitely have more of a pep in my step during my runs knowing what's waiting for me at the finish.
