A taste of South Africa arrives in San Antonio Friday with the grand opening of Cape Bottle Roomnear Pearl.
Why it matters: The Austin-based wine bar expands San Antonio's growing wine scene while spotlighting varietals less common in Texas — like Pinotage.
The vibe: Guests can enjoy tastings, wine flights and bites inside the Oxbow building space, just steps from Pearl.
Food options include the Biltong Board, featuring cured meats such as biltong and droëwors, plus marinated olives and peppers.
What they're saying: "Every bottle we pour tells a story about the land, the winemaker and South African culture," owner Danya Declusin said in a statement.
"We couldn't imagine a better place to call our next home than San Antonio, a city that values culture, hospitality and bringing people together."
