Spurs overhaul old practice facility for San Antonians to use

Context: When the old facility opened in 2002, it was the NBA's second dedicated practice building.

What they're saying: The facility "was born from a spirit of innovation and progress, and it's only fitting that its next chapter continues that legacy," Patricia Mejia, chief impact and inclusion officer at Spurs Sports & Entertainment, said in a statement.

Flashback: The Spurs moved to their new practice facility in 2023. It anchors The Rock at La Cantera, a broader development that includes an outdoor event plaza and a restaurant.

What's next: The first phase of the renovation is anticipated to finish up this fall.
