San Antonio mainstay Julian's Pizza expands with Southtown spot

The team behind Julian's Italian Pizzeria & Kitchen is expanding into Southtown with a new spot — Julian's Pizza & More — opening in the former Barrio Dogg space on South Presa Street.
Why it matters: It's the first location near the city center for the beloved local chain.
The latest: The family-owned business could be open by the second week of October, Hannah Solis, daughter of founders Julian and Kara Solis, tells Axios.
Flashback: The Solis family launched the business in 2006 with their original location on West Avenue, per the company's website.
Dig in: The Southtown menu will blend new items with longtime customer favorites, Hannah Solis says.
- The space will also include a small market where customers can pick up pasta, beer, wine and other goods — perhaps the inspiration for the "more" in the name.
The vibe: Julian's is the kind of place where you're greeted by your first name, Julian Solis writes online.
- "I believe that our delicious food is what our reputation is built on, but it is the little things that we do at Julian's that keep our customers coming back time and time again," he says.
