Whataburger customers in San Antonio and New Braunfels will receive a coupon when they donate $1 to the San Antonio Food Bank through the end of September.
Zoom in: The coupon is good for a free Whataburger (worth $5.59 on its own) with the purchase of a medium fry and 32-ounce drink.
What they're saying: "The right food in the right amount at the right time is (the) recipe for healthy living, especially for kids," food bank CEO Eric Cooper said in a statement.
How it works: Proceeds from the fundraiser go to the food bank's child hunger programs — Kids Café, summer food service and ongoing wellness and nutrition education classes for families.
The bottom line: We like free food, and we like helping kids who need it get free food too.
