San Antonio mainstay Boudro's debuts River Walk bar

Boudro's, a River Walk favorite, now has a terrace bar.
The latest: The bar officially opened last week. Boudro's also unveiled new private event rooms available to rent.
Flashback: Rio Rio Cantina previously occupied the space, which sits above the Boudro's dining room. It closed in January 2024.
The vibe: It's a quiet space with friendly bartenders, solid drinks and a birdseye view of the famed river. It's perfect for a stop on a night out, maybe before catching a show or exploring the area.
- A cool Easter egg is a floor-to-ceiling wallpaper print of an old photo showing what East Commerce Street — where Boudro's is located — used to look like.
What to try: The prickly pear margarita ($15). It was sweet, fresh and not overly tangy.
- And since food is available at the bar — the shrimp and grits ($38).
