Viral La La Land Kind Café is close to opening in San Antonio

The highly anticipated La La Land Kind Café is close to opening at The Shops at La Cantera.

Why it matters: The yellow caffeine wonderland is San Antonio's first taste of the viral business, which is known for hiring and mentoring foster youth and for its mission to "normalize kindness" alongside its photogenic, Instagram-worthy lattes and pastries.

The latest: The shop, which will occupy the former Francesca's space, is nearing completion, according to a post on the mall's Instagram account.

The post did not disclose an opening date and a spokesperson for the mall was not immediately available to share details.
A Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing shows construction is set to wrap up on Oct. 29.

What they're saying: Naheed Rajwani-Dharsi, who reports for Axios in Dallas — where the business started — is a fan and says: "Prepare for cheerful baristas, ego-boosting compliments and a 'cloud' topper that tastes like cold, sweet, thick nectar."
