👋 Megan here. I finally made it to the swimming pool at San Pedro Springs Park this year.
State of swims: San Pedro is the crowned jewel of the city's 24 free, outdoor public pools.
The springs no longer feed the pool, but it remains an expansive gathering place beneath towering trees in the city's oldest park.
Pro tip: While the pool gets crowded on weekends, I found it much calmer on a recent weeknight visit.
What's next: The city is expected to close most public pools by the middle of August, but will keep some open through early September. It remains to be seen if San Pedro will be on that list.
If you go: The pool at San Pedro Springs Park is open 1-8pm every day except Tuesdays.
