The Brackenridge Park Conservancy has made repairs to the beloved Joske Pavilion, a longtime picnic and field trip spot.
The work completed includes:
Repaired and replaced flagstone and concrete at the pavilion entrance
A restored roof with new clay tiles
Fresh paint
By the numbers: The repair work cost about $29,000 and was made possible by a grant from the Frederic J. and Dorothea Oppenheimer Foundation, spokesperson Laura Aplin tells Axios.
Flashback: The Joske Pavilion was originally built in 1926 with a $10,000 gift from the estate of retailer Alexander Joske.
What's next: More upgrades are planned in the months ahead, Aplin says.
