👋 Megan here. Hidden behind Broadway is one of the city's best restaurants.
The vibe:Paladar is a fusion of Mexican and Cuban food in a casual, unassuming atmosphere. It's cozy and low-lit.
How it works: The menu has three sections. You can order the solely Mexican or Cuban version or a dish, or you can order a fusion of the two.
I recommend the fusion.
What to try: To start, order the Tuna Salvaje ($21). The slightlyseared fish is served over mango with a ponzu sauce, micro greens and avocado. It has complexity and heat.
Then order the Posta de Huachinango ($30), a red snapper filet topped with house-made garlic mojo sauce over a bed of mashed plantains. The fish is expertly cooked.

Pro tip: The restaurant is BYOB, but be sure to ask about the mocktails with a side of booze.
If you go: Paladar is temporarily closed to update its kitchen, but reservations are available starting Tuesday.
