👋 Megan here. I stopped by Vegan Avenue this week after I learned the owners are looking for a new space.
State of play: I'm not a vegan, but I love eating great plant-based meals. Vegan Avenue has always been a reliable neighborhood joint in Monte Vista offering up brunch, burgers, Tex-Mex and more.
What they're saying: The restaurant is looking for a new home "due to rising costs and space limitations," per an Instagram post.
What to try: Stop by before the relocation and grab a buffalo chick'n sandwich ($18): a soy-based protein with plentiful buffalo sauce, greens, pickles and chipotle aioli on a toasted sesame bun.
Texture is an important part of great plant-based food, and this nails the crispy exterior perfectly. The sauce brings everything together.
The bottom line: Try something new and support a local business.
