👋 Megan here. I asked everyone last week what you think of taking State Highway 130, a toll road, to get around I-35 traffic on your way to Austin.
The vibe: Y'all are largely willing to pay up to avoid I-35.
Here's some of what you had to say:
". . .My peace of mind is worth $12."
— Gilpatrick P.
"The toll road is the safest and fastest route to travel anywhere north of that city."
— Richard E.
"I prefer (SH) 130 for the lower stress from less trucks and inexperienced/aggressive drivers. On I-35 the entire distance seems to be drivers fighting."
— Raymond M.
"I was surprised at how much traffic there was on the toll road," but "the aggressiveness of drivers on 35 means I will take (the) toll road every time."
— Elaine A.
Yes, but: Reader Mitzi M. disagrees.
"That route is incredibly boring, and likely to make me fall asleep while driving. Yes, going through Austin can be maddening, but at least there's something to look at."
