👋 Megan here. I've been spending some time at River Sun lately to see live jazz performances, and recently found the perfect cocktail to match the moody atmosphere of the space.
What to try: The Oaxacan Old Fashioned ($14) is made with just three ingredients — mezcal, grapefruit bitters and Velvet Falernum — but tastes plenty complex.
It's not too sweet and not too bitter. The grapefruit adds just the right touch of brightness without going overboard on acidity.
The vibe: The bar is a small, intimate space where the walls are covered in murals and the lights change color.
