👋 Megan here. After years of walking past Hola! on South Alamo Street, I finally stopped in to try some tapas.Â
The vibe: The interior was warm and cozy on a chilly winter night. I was seated at the bar and happily enjoyed the view of the kitchen, where chefs whipped up a variety of small plates.Â
What to try: Start with the tortilla ($7.50): A Spanish potato omelet with aioli and freshly dressed greens.Â
Definitely order the charred cauliflower ($7.50) with Parmesan mayo, which lends a distinct cheesiness to the already comforting dish.Â
And I'd be remiss not to mention the tuna tartare ($9.50) — my favorite on most menus, including this one. There's plenty of spicy mustard, mango and lime-avocado puree to soak it all up.Â
Patatas bravas ($7) are a must-order on any tapas menu. These are crispy and come with more aioli and dried sausage.Â
What's next: A return trip to sample the rest of the menu.Â
