San Antonio's bar scene adds three new concepts in time for the holidays

• Southtown House of Spirits: This gothic vintage-style gem, housed in a historic building on South Alamo Street, serves up booze (and boos). It fittingly opened its doors on Halloween night.
• Bar House: Farther north on Alamo, on the other side of downtown, is this three-level bar offering skyline views. Bar-hoppers have been enjoying the soft opening, but the official grand opening is set for Saturday.
• La Honky Tonk: Opening the same night as Bar House, this Broadway spot promises live music, country dancing and craft drinks.

The bottom line: There's no shortage of places to take visitors during the holiday season.
