San Antonio to get a Moo Deng-inspired restaurant

San Antonio doesn't have a pygmy hippo to fawn over in the Moo Deng era, but the city is close to getting a Thai restaurant inspired by the viral animal.

The latest: The owners do not have an opening date but confirmed to Axios in an email that the restaurant will be located at 820 Fredericksburg Road in Beacon Hill.

Zoom in: It's unclear how the tenacious Moo Deng, who has captivated the world from her Thailand habitat, will be incorporated into the restaurant outside of its name and logo.

The Instagram page says the restaurant will have a "lively" dining experience with takeout and delivery options.
