👋 Madalyn here! I recently reconnected with Camp Outpost, a Southtown spot I hadn't visited in years.
Dig in: On a recent weekend, when I wasn't quite hungry enough for a big brunch but wanted something fresh, it fit the bill perfectly.
What to try: The Mission Salad ($11.95) with grilled shrimp ($6.95). I was a bit surprised by my $29 tab (including a drink and tip), but it was worth every penny.
Multiple people responded to my Instagram post of this picture wanting to know where it was from, so I wanted to share the plate here too.
It was a delicious blend of textures with the crisp romaine, crunchy tortilla strips and juicy shrimp. The salad also has roasted corn, black beans, avocado, tomato and queso fresco covered in a roasted poblano ranch dressing.
You can opt for chicken (fried, rotisserie or grilled) or steak protein options.
The bottom line: If you're looking to treat yourself to a delicious salad, this one might be it.
